spencer laughed and pulled back a bit, his long arms still wrapped loosely around bailey’s waist. “so, is there some kind of dire emergency taking place or did you just blow up my phone and drive all the way to my apartment to say hi?” he asked, tilting his head and raising a single brow.
“well, you see..” they started, a slight giggle already slipping from their lips as they glanced up at spender with their eyebrows risen. “you weren’t answering my phone calls, and i got worried because i was like ‘why isn’t the man that loves me more than anything not answering?’. so, i hurried over, and, now, here we are.” all of that was of course a lie, bailey knew spencer was either high, too drunk to find his phone, or just lazy. in all honesty, they just wanted an excuse to see him without seeming too clingy. since when did bailey care about that?
spencer chuckled and wrapped his arms around the smaller’s waist, pulling them close and bending down a bit so it was easier for them to reach. he squeezed them tight, but was careful enough not to hurt them. “that’s me.”
“i honestly don’t know how i put up with your laziness.” the non-binary hummed happily into the warm neck of the other. he smelled like weed, cheap cologne and vaguely like whiskey. bailey found it oddly comforting.
as he stepped aside to allow bailey entrance into the apartment, he gave a shrug. “honestly? i have no idea where i set down my phone and i was too lazy to go looking for it,” the dark haired boy said as he shut the door, turning to look at the other with a half smile.
glancing back with the “i’m-trying-to-look-annoyed-but-i’m-not-a-good-actor” expression seemingly etched into their features, a slow and warm smiling being replaced on their pink lips. “lazy bum.” they whispered and hopped over before their arms were wrapping around the dark haired boy’s neck and bailey was forced onto their tippy-toes to reach.
and with a huff and a curt nod, bailey made their way inside while sliding the cellular device into the tight back pocket of their dark blue skinny jeans. “and you didn’t reply?”
